Heavenly Haven

MISSION &VISION

We help those who are in need

We have a heart for the community and we focus on uplifting our communities through skills development, teaching, training and helping to create jobs wherever we see an opportunity. We truly believe that this is the only sustainable way change will happen. To equip our people with the necessary tools so they themselves are able to create a better, more prosperous future for themselves.

With sewing machines, knitting machines and woodworking equipment, we teach unemployed people various skills to enable them to become entrepreneurs and thus provide for themselves and their families.

Although clothing and food parcels are handed out regularly to sustain this impoverished community, individuals are encouraged to sign on to the skills programme, so that they can eventually become independent.

Skills currently being taught are sewing, knitting, crocheting, woodwork, mosaic, wirework, baking, literacy and basic computer skills. Raw materials are always needed, such as glue, thread, fabric, paints, wool, wire, nails and beads. Once the final products have passed inspection, these are sold at various craft markets. Individual crafters are encouraged to work at the stalls, as this further teaches them to interact with the buying public.

The food garden project is another avenue to assist with self-sustainability. Vegetable seeds are planted into seed trays, and when ready, the seedlings are moved to central community families, where the produce is shared by everyone who helped to maintain the garden.

Heavenly Haven also supports roughly 120 toddlers and children. The need here is for educational material, toys and clothing.

Our Mission

We seek to develop people, especially unemployed and impoverished people, socially, economically, emotionally and spiritually by teaching various skills and self-awareness.

Our Vision

At Heavenly Haven we believe that the time has come to stop talking about everything that is wrong in this world, and to start doing something about it. There is no someone else, there is only every one of us. Although clothing and food parcels are handed out regularly to sustain our impoverished community, individuals are encouraged to sign on to the skills program, so that they can eventually become independent.
