Project Detail

In the Great Brak River area, our Skills Development Centre focuses on teaching women in the community valuable skills to help generate an income. These include;
– Sewing
– Knitting
– Crocheting
– Weaving
The talented ladies create all sorts of wonderful items ranging from key rings to beanies, bookmarks and so much more. Our skills development includes the making of jewelry and jams, all of which are sold at craft markets. The aim here is to create an online store for Heavenly Haven, which will act as a platform on which we’ll be selling all of these wonderfully handmade items.

We encourage the men to also become a part of our gardening project, which mostly entails edging. Our aim is to help create jobs by giving these men the opportunity to create beautiful gardens.

The project is self-funded, with no grants or other assistance. We are dependent on the assistance of donors in order to keep the good work going! Through the development of skills, teaching and training, we believe that sustainable change can happen.
